The Breda ring road between Teteringen and Prinsenbeek has been released after hours. A broken water pipe quickly filled the road with water. After that, the road surface was covered with mud for a distance of four hundred meters. The road was closed during the cleanup.
The police received the first report of flooding around 12:30 p.m. The Arduinstraat, Kapittelweg, Nieuwe Kadijk and Charles Petitweg were soon flooded. Local residents were confronted with brown water or low water pressure. Around three o’clock Sunday afternoon everyone had water again.
At first, Brabant Water thought that the street would be clean again around half past four, but in the end it took until nine o’clock on Sunday evening.
The cycle path and pedestrian path next to the Nieuwe Kadijk will not be cleaned until Monday and will therefore remain closed.
Washing machine off
Waterstoring.nl advises local residents to turn off water-using appliances such as boilers, washing machines and dishwashers. Don’t forget to extinguish the pilot light of the geyser.
