The ‘Financial Times’ has released the new American proposal for a raw material deal with Ukraine. That is hallucinatory. Because instead of an equal distribution, the proceeds now come in a fund from which Ukraine can only draw if the US is completely repaid for their war effort – including an interest of 4 percent. “It seems as if it is intended that Ukraine refuses to sign,” says our abroad journalist Guy van Vlierden. “And that would learn something about the belief that Trump still has in the peace opportunities.”
