Paris (dpa -AfX) – Russia and Ukraine have agreed not to attack the enemy’s energy supply. However, according to the Ukrainian President Wolodymyr Selenskyj, Russia does not adhere to the agreement.
The Russian military shot at the city of Cherson during the day with artillery and also damaged an energy object, said Selenskyj at a press conference in Paris. “I think there should be a reaction from the USA.” Selenskyj emphasized that it is not necessary, but concrete deeds.
According to his information, Ukraine recorded the violation. All evidence would be prepared and handed over to the USA. Kyiv then wait for the reaction to such violations promised by Washington.
As a result of Russian shelling, there were power failures in Cherson. Railway systems were also damaged. At least two people were killed in the attack and four injured.
Moscow had already complained before Kyiv that the agreement was not being met. Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskow said that Russia no longer attacks energy plants, but Ukraine continues to target such objects. When Russia complained about attacks, the technical details of the agreement were not yet known ./Bal/dp/he
