There is now a solution for the remaining fourteen residents. “We have met a lot in recent weeks to find concrete solutions for those people. We also visited the ship’s college personally to those people to see how they would feel. I always said I didn’t want to put anyone on the street,” says Mayor Steve Vandenberghe.
Some of the residents can go to other residential care centers in the area, some are now also on the private rental market. “Now that a place has been found for everyone, we can close the two buildings on April 1.”
