This year the stock market was dominated by the moon. A large Moonbase project, a LEGO space station on the moon, attracted a lot of attention. No fewer than 43 members of a Legoclub worked together on this impressive project. The stock market was not only focused on LEGO fans, but also wanted to make children enthusiastic about technology and programming. Wim Devos from Coderdojo emphasizes how important it is to introduce children to technology early on: “We try to warm the children to learn everything from STEM technology, such as programming. LEGO is an important part of that.”
The popularity of LEGO has risen sharply in recent years, partly due to programs such as LEGO MASTERS on VTM. This was clearly visible in the visitor numbers. Christophe van Linthoudt, one of the organizers, reported that 935 visitors were present on Saturday and that they hope to reach the cape of two thousand visitors on Sunday.
