China denies request for military equipment from Russia

China denies receiving a request for military equipment from Russia because of the war in Ukraine. Various American media reported that the Russian authorities have asked Beijing for help.

The media relies on anonymous sources within the US government. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs speaks of “disinformation from the United States”. This ministry previously denied asking Russia to delay the invasion after US media reported that China had made a request to that effect because of the Beijing Olympics.

China is trying to be neutral when it comes to the Russian invasion of Ukraine. The Asian country has not condemned the war, nor has it expressed its support for Russia.
