Update: John Cale had to cancel his Germany term in March in Leipzig, Berlin, Cologne and Hamburg at short notice. However, the gigs are not. Instead, there are short -term replacement dates in April (see below).
Even if the confident title of his new record suggests something else, John Cale is still angry. About the willful destruction, which have brought uncontrolled capitalists and reorient fraudsters about the miracles of this world and the kindness of people.
In March 2025 the musician will also be shown live in Germany (after he had to postpone a few gigs). The former member of The Velvet Underground will play eight concerts. Of course, the songs of his new LP “Poptical Illusion” are presented. This is the second album Cales within just one year after “Mercy”.
Produced by John Cale and his long -time artistic partner Nita Scott in his studio in Los Angeles, “Poptical Illusion” is the attempt to lean towards the future without closing away from today’s problems.

John Cale, born in Wales in 1942, remained a chameleon as a influential musician and producer after his time The Velvet Underground. His younger albums show an impressive stylistic range. It combines elements from classical, avant -garde, rock and electronics into a unique sound cosmos. This also attracts other, younger musicians: inside. “Mercy” was created with the participation of Weyes Blood and Animal Collective. Despite his advanced age, Cale remains musically innovative. His newer albums sound modern and keen to experiment without being nostalgic or sentimental.
