Clipping became known. In the middle of the years through funny gimmicks such as a collage of six different fired firearms in the single “Shooter”. Since then it has not worked with the mainstream, the hip -hop of the trio from Los Angeles is too much on the experimental edge. Everything that rapper Daveed Diggs and the producers William Hutson and Jonathan Snipes produce as a studied theater and art scientist is committed to the avant-garde.
Dead Channel Sky is also a cross -border commuter, an album that experiments with the mixture of genres and philosophized about world events: “History is so funny / It’s only Written with that on money.” Even influences from the grunge, for which your label subpop traditionally stands, cannot be ignored in “Dodger” and “Welcome Home Warrior”, even between futuristic, dark synth sounds, loudspeaker bass and nested, fast rap bars.
You don’t hear such hip-hop cyber punk every day, and it is not too much. Someone played the balancing act between provocation and craftsmanship.
