Bonprix strengthens its IT department with two new managers.
After the clothing provider has already created the role of Chief Information Officer (CIO) and Matthias Wlaka has appointed to this position, two further appointments will now follow to strengthen the IT area in the future. Rebecca Lay takes over the position of Vice President Business IT, while Michael Malessa, as Vice President Technology & Operations, comes to Bonprix, the company belonging to the Otto Group, which belongs to the Hamburg Commercial and Service Group, shared on Wednesday.
Lay has been working in her new role since March 1, 2025 and reports directly to Wlaka. She switched from Tchibo to a clothing dealer and is now responsible for the strategic direction of IT in the sense of Customer Centricity and the further development of the Customer Journey in close cooperation with all departments.
Malessa, on the other hand, comes from Otto to Bonprix – like Wlaka. There he is currently responsible for the transformation and increase in efficiency of the ERP management and order management system as a division manager. From April he will complete the management team of the clothing dealer.
