Ski jumping scandal in Norway: After the World Cup in Trondheim, the association is taking consequences-and suspends further staff.

The ski jumping scandal around manipulated suits leads further personnel consequences for the Norwegian team. According to head coach Magnus Brevig, his assistant Thomas Lobben was now suspended with immediate effect. The Norwegian Ski Association announced this a few days after the Nordic Ski World Cup in Trondheim. The employee, who was also involved, had already been released.

According to General Secretary Ola Keul, Lobben admitted to being involved in the manipulation of the jump suits. The Norwegian Association emphasized that the investigation of the World Association FIS would be “fully cooperated”. The requested suits have already been handed over to the FIS.

On anonymously published recordings, you can see how members of the Norwegian team in the presence of Magnus Brevig deal with the competition suits inadmissible.

Specifically, a forbidden seam was attached, which makes the suit more stable and thereby gives the jumpers an advantage during the flight through the air. Sports director Jan Erik Aalbu said that he knew nothing about these practices, but had already announced consequences.

After the large hill, in which the Norwegians Marius Lindvik and Johann André Forfang were disqualified, Aalbu initially spoke of a “violation of the rules”. He later admitted that it was actually fraud.
