The search for the missing 20-year-old daam from Hooghalen will be continued tomorrow. Diëm was last seen in Marwijksoord, on March 5.

After a weekend of intensive searches, which also used tracking dogs, the focus is now on a sand excavation in the forest behind the Gasselterveld. The navy will look for underwater drones there tomorrow, and will use divers if necessary.

Today, it is not being searched, says Xander Uringa. He coordinates the volunteers who help you search for a died. “Last weekend, police, volunteers and search dogs were active in the area, but without result. Speor dogs caught on at the waterfront of a remote sand excavation, which reinforces that diermet is in the water.” It is a sand excavation that is also called ‘the Pacific, east of the larger sand excavation Gasselterveld. The Silent Plas is in an area that is not freely accessible.

The silent lake is more than 30 meters deep, the forester of the area says. “And more dangerous than the Gasselterveld, the walls of the Silent Plas are unstable and can collapse. And the bottom from the side very quickly and very style deeper.”

For the time being there is no call for new searches with volunteers. People who want to help are asked not to look independently in the area.

Diëm was last seen in the Marwijksoord area on Wednesday 5 March. He left walking and since then every trail is missing. The police and family are seriously concerned.

Anyone who has tips about the missing of Daam is requested to contact the police via 112.
