The main prize, intended for a promising comedian who wins a ‘Scholarship’ with it, went to Karim Shatla. Karim was born in West Flanders and has Egyptian blood.
Geert Hoste Got the Lifetime Achievement Award for his “lasting impact on the sector”. Geert Hoste was born in Bruges and grew up in Waardamme, near Oostkamp.
Of course, an award show for comedy also includes – and perhaps especially – playful prices. Gunter Lamoot (Ostend) won the award for “best dressed” comedian, and Wouter Deprez (Geluwe) was awarded the “too easy to deal with” award.
