Gelderland wants considerably less nitrogen emissions in zones around nature

The province of Gelderland wants to set zones of 500 meters around vulnerable nature reserves in the Veluwe and at Winterswijk in which nitrogen emissions have to be considerably reduced. With that measure, the Gelderse College of Provincial Executive wants to get the granting permits again and improve the state of nature. In the Veluwe, where about half of all of all nitrogen -sensitive nature in the Netherlands, the plan is to ultimately limit emissions by 60 to 70 percent.
