It is the absolute dream for every carnival artist: choose winning your squatter. CV the broken stoves ft. Rene van Rooij from Schaijk/Oss won the big win on Friday. With their carnivalesque work ‘Dikke Pens (Clap Your Pens)’ they participated, and the whole of Brabant turned out to be hungry for this swinging sing -along!
A battle of size
It was just not as blood -curdling exciting as last year – when CV won the throwers with only three votes difference – but it was certainly a titanic struggle. Big names such as Veul Gère were on the chilly stoves for a long time. But in the end they managed to win the win with a good abdominal length.
‘Body positivity’
CV de Breakte Stoves broke through in 2019 with ‘Back over the Maas’. The whole of Brabant Hoste on this outright hit, but they ended in third place, behind Veul Gère. But this year it is hit.
They had a secret trump for that: Rene van Rooij. The man we know from Dad and Pudding and WC Experience, knew exactly how he could make this musical stew even fatter. “That inverted body positivity fits me well,” he joked last week on Omroep Brabant Radio.
Record number
Carnival is emotion and that turned out again: there has never been so much voting on you choosing squatter as this year. The coveted trophy was awarded during 3 hours of Vurraf by presenter Jordy Graat at the overblow winners.
