With twelve World Cup victories, the ski jumpers from Austria are the big favorites for World Cup gold. One of her leaders were painfully injured by a pet shortly before the World Cup. Nika Prevc is the high -flyer for women. But Saxon Selina Freitag can annoy you.
While the ski jumpers could still be exciting among the Austrians, the gold question among the ski jumpers for the Nordic Ski World Cup seems to be almost clarified.
The Slovenin Nika Prevc celebrated eleven World Cup victories in the current season, just one less than the Austrian high -flyer Daniel Tschofenig, Jan Hörl and Stefan Kraft together. The 19-year-old leads the overall World Cup superior with over 400 points and is the absolute top favorite on gold in Trondheim.
The biggest competitor comes from Germany
In the past few weeks, however, a jumper has shown that she can keep up with the high -flyer from Slovnia: Selina Freitag flew as a PrevC in the last competitions before the World Cup, but did not set the Telemark properly and therefore had to be satisfied with second place. With a bit of telemark training, the fight for gold in Norway could be exciting again.
Which Austrian does the race?
In the case of ski jumpers, the decision about the World Cup title has at least a little more exciting in advance: Which of the three Austrians crowns the world mate? Daniel Tschofenig, Jan Hörl and Stefan Kraft have dominated the World Cup since the end of December.
So far there have been only two individual platforms without Austrian participation throughout the winter. A total of forty podium places collected ski jumper from Austria. The most successful of them: Daniel Tschofenig. He won the overall ranking of the four -hill tour and eight individual jumping.
Kobayashi and Forfang want to crash red and white-red party
Finally, however, individual jumpers kept breaking the red and white-red dominance. For example, Ryoyu Kobayashi was able to win again this season in his homeland Japan. He celebrated two victories at the World Cup general rehearsal in Sapporo.
The Norwegian Johann Andre Forfang also jumped into a top form in the shadow of the Austrian dominance. He travels to his home World Cup with six podium in his luggage. Teammate Marius Lindvik also reported back in the top of the world just before Trondheim. In Sapporo, he made the podium for the first time this season.
Hex shot and cat attack with Stefan Kraft
Perhaps further hope for all non -Austrians – the preparation of co -favorite Stefan Kraft was anything but planned: after returning from Sapporo, the Austrian first had to cure a lumbago. Then he was attacked by the neighboring cat.
“We let her go for breakfast and I played nicely with her and stroked her. She really enjoyed it until suddenly she no longer interested her“, Kraft said at a media appointment of the Austrian Ski Association (ÖSV):”Then she ripped my hand.”
After medical treatment fit for the World Cup
Strength was then treated with medically treated with antibiotics and vaccinated. “It was very exciting and I was distracted a lot. Now you can stop again“, the ÖSV-Adler explained himself. Despite incident like Jan Hörl and Daniel Tschofenig, he is one of the biggest medal favorites with two seasonal victories and five podium.
