Two years ago, regular guests from Vakantiepark Meerzicht bought back the park from Europarcs, now the first plans are at the municipality for expansion. 38 new holiday homes must be built. That means 38 new neighbors and co-owners. The park then grows to around one hundred homes.

Buying a lot automatically means that you also become co-owner of, for example, the scaffolding in Leekstermeer and the Pavilion. Together in an association of owners (VVE), everyone determines the course of the park. Before the time comes, the municipality must first give approval: “We would be happy if it will be ready in ten weeks. Objections can be made, but we remain in a positive way,” says Dorine Sibbes, chairman of Parkbelangen Leekstermeer.

This is about holiday homes and not permanent residence. Dorine: “Everything flies and fluttered, we are a green gem and we hold that character. There will therefore be no flats.” The new owners may also determine themselves, if stated inside indicated, what the houses will look like. “We don’t want everything to look alike, not Roompot houses.”

Construction rules, co-ownership, maybe it all sounds like many obligations. “That is not so bad, but everyone contributes. This way you become jointly responsible for maintenance and there are mandatory annual costs of around 1200 euros. On a voluntary basis you can become a member of a working group, if you like that”, Lights Dorine. It is checked for the sale whether there is a match, but there is no selection. “Everyone who can and wants it could in principle be our new neighbor and colleague.”
