Hannover 96 already looked like the safe winner against SC Paderborn. But then Joker Adriano Grimaldi came and marked the equalization to 1: 1 (1: 0). Marcel Halstenberg had taken the lead in 96 early.

Whatever the Paderboreners may have made on Saturday evening (22.02.2025) in Hanover – it was certainly thrown over the pile after almost four minutes.

It was just so long for Hannover 96 against the guests from East Westphalia for the first time: Marcel Halstenberg had extended a long free -kick flank by head to Jannik Rochelt, preserved the ball from it by flat pass and shot ice cold from 13 meters to 1: 0. The Paderborn defense? Wasn’t there at that moment – probably with the thoughts somewhere in the preparation for the game.

Halstenberg only meets aluminum

Five minutes later, they had almost hopelessly backed: Halstenberg had laid the ball to the free kick – 20 meters in front of the goal. And of course the ex-Leipziger can do something like that. The shot crashed at the right crossbar.

However, this aluminum goal had something like a wake-up function for the SCP, which from then on also took part in the game. Raphael Obermair was the first to take the initiative and would have been equally successful for a hair. After a fine solo, he pulled out dryly from 19 meters and found his master in the backstalling Ron-Robert in the box of the home side.

Paderborn torses himself up

After a good half an hour the next big chance for the guests: again Obermair had prepared heavily and put Santiago Castaneda in scene. The midfielder did not accommodate the ball in front of the destination alone in the goal, aimed at shortly left.

In the second section, Paderborn completely took over the game role. And achieved opportunities. In the 56th minute, Aaron Zenter brought a left flank with a outstanding cut to the center, where Calvin Brackelmann went into the header with a lot of pace, but only made the crossbar trembling.

Twice aluminum for Paderborn

The next aluminum hit six minutes later. The outstanding Obermair shot at the left post from 20 meters from 20 meters. Hanover was too passive – the tour hung on the silk thread. Which then tore late. Adriano Grimaldi, who had substituted late together with Sven Michel, was in the right place in added time and headed into a deserved 1-1.
