No victory from five games
False start for ex-entrepreneur Härtel in Aue

At Eintracht Braunschweig, Jens Härtel’s term ended as a great misunderstanding. The trainer also has enormous starting difficulties in his new club.
Only one victory of eleven competitive games: that was the sobering record of Jens Härtel as a coach of Eintracht Braunschweig. The coach had to go again three and a half months after his start at the Oker in October 2023. It was Härtel’s shortest term as head coach at a club.
In January 2025, the 55-year-old hired in the 3rd division. At Erzgebirge Aue he inherited Jörg Emmerich at the turn of the year, who was temporarily taken over after the exemption from Pavel Dotchev in December 2024. But even with his new employer, Härtel comes out of the starting blocks extremely badly.
Rather, his previous yield reads devastating. In five third division games, Aue did not achieve a single victory under the new coach. So far, two draws and three defeats have been on Härtel’s proof of work. With the 1: 2 against Arminia Bielefeld, Aue fell back in twelve. Härtel had taken over the club in seventh place and only three points behind the promotion relegation site – now there are ten.
While the critical voices are increasing against Bielefeld after the bankruptcy, at least within the club is convinced of your own work. Against Bielefeld, the defeat was less wrote to their own playful inability than simply the bad luck.
For Härtel, it was even “almost a scandal” that despite phases of pressing superiority against the Arminia, one stood empty hands in the end. It was “madness” and “totally annoying” that the good chances could not be converted into countable things, according to the coach at “Magentattv”.
This is symbolized in Marcel Bär, another ex-entrepreneur player. The offensive man seems to have almost leased the bad luck. Against Bielefeld, he scored the aluminum in the fourth competitive game in a row and thus narrowly missed the lead. “What did the team broke?” Härtel scolded afterwards.
And Pechvogel Bär himself also admitted: “I lack the words a bit. We have to make it clear in the first half and lie in front with two or three goals.” Nevertheless, the team’s performance also gives him hope. “It’s bitter, but if we continue like this, the points will come. I’m sure of that,” said the 32-year-old.
With this certainty, Härtel also wants to go into the next games. “If we can score goals now, the results have to come at some point,” he is certain. “It is my firm conviction that hard work and a performance will be rewarded at some point.”
The pressure on the coach should not be less if the failure continues. He is facing the tear test early on in Aue. Because he also knows: “In the end, a trainer is always billed on points. I am already aware of that. And that’s why it’s an extremely difficult story.”
