Ex-VFB coach Michael Wimmer took on a new task last May at Austria Vienna. The 44-year-old competes abroad and takes over the coaching office at the Scottish first division club Motherwell FC. With him, his long -time assistant Ahmet Koc hires the Scottish Premiership in the table night.

Wimmer follows Stuart Kettlewell, who had to take his hat off at the end of January after only two wins from ten games. In the meantime, Motherwell, who has been waiting for success for six games, was still in the middle of the fight for the European Cup places.

“This is a really exciting commitment to the association,” said CEO Kyrk MacMillan. “There was a robust and exhausting recruitment process that lasted the last three weeks and demanded a lot to everyone involved (…). After we received hundreds of applications from trainers from all over the world, Michael was the outstanding candidate. We carried out a strict DUE diligence test to ensure that this appointment directs the club in the right direction. ”
