German Paulina Schlosser falls badly – it was minutes on the ground

Shock at the giant slalom: The German skier Paulina Schlosser wanted to attack in Slovenia. But she fell badly and was thrown over the slope – after which she was lying on the ground for minutes.

The German ski racer Paulina Schlosser fell badly at the Giant Slalom World Cup in Kranjska Gora, Slovenia. In the first run on Saturday, the 20-year-old technician slipped away with her skis after a few goals and flung across the piste. She lay in the snow for minutes and was treated.

Then she was taken away with the rescue sledge. “Right lower leg fracture” was the bitter diagnosis of the German Ski Association late at noon after the race.

Teammate also missed the final

Schlosser therefore missed the final, as did his teammate Emma Aicher, who ended up in the back field. Only the top 30 qualify for the second run.

The victory in the giant slalom on Podkoren went to the Swede Sara Hector, who triumphed for the second time this Olympic winter after the success in Courchevel. French Tessa Worley came in second, 0.96 seconds behind, followed by last year’s winner Marta Bassino from Italy (+1.32).
