The favorite fourth in the table is difficult for the Fuggerstädters. Shortly before the end, the guests even have to survive a moment of terror.

RB Leipzig steps on the spot in the Bundesliga table: The Saxons did not get out of 0-0 at FC Augsburg at the start of the 22nd match day and missed it in the table in third place in the table.

Augsburg, on the other hand, earned the point with a courageous performance – and shortly before the end of Frank Onyeka even had the chance to win (81st). But the midfielder was just past the long post from the penalty area border. So it stayed with the goalless draw. In the past six league games, RB has only achieved one victory, too little for the royal class ambitions.

Against the FCA, which remained undefeated for the sixth time in a row in the league, the Saxons once again presented themselves too harmless. On Saturday (from 3:30 p.m. in the live ticker at T-Online), VfB Stuttgart can pass to RB with a win against VfL Wolfsburg and push for fourth place.

The Leipziger had to do without their red -locked captain Willi Orban and also had a strange failure. Defense player El Chadaille Betshiabu was not in the squad because he had missed the bus descent to the plane towards Augsburg. “Then you can’t be there at the end of the day,” said Rose at DAZN.

RB initially took over the game control. Christoph Baumgartner, who replaced Antonio Nusa injured on the knee, came to the first chances after a quick switchover (4th, 10th).

Despite the high possession of the ball, RB found gaps too rarely in the compact Augsburg defensive. After Lutsharel Geertruida (12th) or Xavi Simons (15th) had no success from a distance, the Leipzig efforts flexibly flattened. And the home side found the game better.

Especially over the wings, the FCA kept trying to do its luck, but there was no real chances in an overall eventless first half as on the opposite side. Only Chrislain Matsima (22nd), representative of the sick Keven Schlotterbeck, and Alexis Claude-Maurice (15th, 39th) came at reasonably noteworthy deals.

Leipzig also started the second half a little more active, Orban representative Lukas Klostermann (47th) and Xavi (49.), however, continued to cause no danger with their degrees. Augsburg also tried aggressively, which at least increased the game pace.

However, there were big chances in short supply until Onyeka for the FCA gave the best opportunity throughout the game (81st). For Leipzig, Kosta Nedeljkovic even headed to the crossbar (90.+3).
