TSV 1860 Munich remains on the road to success. Coach Michael Köllner’s team also showed an appealing performance in their game on the 30th match day of the third division in Berlin’s Friedrich-Ludwig-Jahn-Sportpark. The guests from Munich won 2-0 against FC Viktoria 1889 Berlin in front of almost 3,400 spectators.
Perfect start for lions
After the 2-0 win against SC Verl, Köllner decided not to make any personnel changes. The guests from Munich started purposefully and took a 1-0 lead in the 3rd minute. Erik Tallig beat Tobias Gunte on the right and pulled him into the penalty area. Berlin’s captain Björn Jopek deflected his sharp cross into his own goal at the height of the first post.
2-0 after 22 minutes
Marcel Bär increased the lead to 2-0 in the 22nd minute with a justified penalty after Lukas Pinckert fouled Stefan Lex. The 29-year-old has scored constantly since Sascha Mölders left the club. It was Bär’s 14th goal of the season. The sixties didn’t hold back and happily stormed towards the box from Berlin keeper Julian Krahl. At the end of the first half, the home side came into play a little better, but were unable to take advantage of the few chances they had.
The same picture in the second half: 1860 was closer to the decisive third goal than the Berliners were to the connecting goal. But both teams weren’t creating 100% chances to score. It stayed at 2:0 for the guests.
Back in the fight for promotion
With this victory, the lions are back in the promotion race. With 49 points, they are only two points behind the relegation place. However, the teams in front of them still have the opportunity to break away again.
The fifth yellow card for Lex after a swallow was annoying. The attacker is suspended for the next game at Waldhof Mannheim.
