At the start of the 75th Berlinale “Das Licht” and an honorary bear for Tilda Swinton
Between the 13th and 23rd February the 75. Berlinale take place in the capital. Here are all information about the film festival here at a glance.
Whoever comes is honored and what could surprise
This time the opening film is “the light”. In it, Nicolette Krebitz Tala al-Deen, who works as a Syrian housekeeper in a German medium-sized family.
In addition, the Oscar winner Tilda Swinton receives a golden honorary bear directly on the opening day.
Director Richard Linklater will also be seen. He could bring Margaret Qualley and Ethan Hawke for his film “Blue Moon”. Most recently, Richard Linklater got a silver bear for “Boyhood” (2014). The actress also has next to him Jessica Chastain promised. She played in “Dreams”, where Michel Franco directed.
A total of 19 bears are awarded. A candidate is the documentary “Timestamp” by Kateryna Gornostai. He shows the life of educator: inside and students: inside during the war in Ukraine.

To the new director
Tricia Tuttle, as the new Berlinale boss, faced the challenge of organizing the established festival. Tricia Tuttle published a text entitled “Comments on Freedom of Opinion, Brave Spaces and Film”. In it she speaks for how films and film festivals can bring people together.
How and where you can be there
If you like tickets for films, it’s not too late. Because tickets are always available online three days before the performance. And red carpets and award ceremonies are transmitted in the live stream. If you want to see long -term favorite films on the cinema screen, you will find a selection among the “Berlin Classics”. And under “Berlinale Goes Kiez” Kiezkinos are played, which “is recognized by the social function of cinemas”.
