The German skiers are at the World Cup before the first medal. In the team combination, a 21-year-old was particularly convincing.
Emma Aicher and Lena Dürr drive at the premiere of the alpine team combination for gold. The 21-year-old Aicher took the strong second place in the descent at the Ski World Cup in Saalbach-Hinterglemm and ensured a brilliant starting position for Dürr before the slalom at 1:15 p.m. (in the live ticker from T-Online).
Aicher, who had already convinced on the special departure and in the Super-G, is only 0.23 seconds behind Lauren Macuga (USA), who forms a team together with Paula Moltzan. Vice world champion Mirjam Puchner (+0.28) rank third. Katharina Liensberger starts in slalom for the top Austrian team.
Departure world champion Breezy Johnson (USA) Superstar Mikaela Shiffrin sends fourth place with 0.51 seconds behind. Kira Weible-Winkelmann, still disappointing twelfth twelfth on Saturday, did a good trip. The 28-year-old became fifth (+0.61). Jessica Hilzinger drives the slalom in the second German team.
“I really enjoy it here. Apparently I have the distance. I’m satisfied. Now I’m fever. Then let’s see what’s going to be,” said Aicher on ZDF. Lindsey Vonn apparently had little fun, who was far -cut to the finish with 2.51 seconds behind.
The competition is for the first time in the World Cup program. He also replaces the traditional individual combination from departure and slalom at the 2026 Olympic Games in 2026. The competition has not yet been tested in the World Cup. The running times from departure and a slalom run are added.
The men’s team combination takes place on Wednesday. The German Ski Association has only reported one team: Romed Baumann will contest the departure in his last World Cup competition (10.00 in the live ticker from T-Online), Linus Straßer the slalom (from 13.00 in the live ticker from T-online).
