Rats on Rafts from Rotterdam are known to immerse yourself very deeply for their albums and projects. Sometimes they go on the footsteps of Can, sometimes they conjure up crazy psychedelic worlds in the style of King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Deep Below now follows the pop cultural trend to counter the dristy of the world situation with music that takes on this gloomy to transform it into something sparkling.
In other words: If The Cure is still looking for a opening act, Rats on Rafts would be a hot tip. Songs such as “Japanese Medicine” are based on Robert Smith’s Faith phase: the guitars over a synth carpet, and David Fagan sings with Androgyner voice about the loss of his former self.
