The Stuttgart public prosecutor’s office has initiated an investigation on suspicion of coercion in several cases at the Kunst-Turn-Forum Stuttgart.
Against the background of the recent allegations of former gymnasts on alleged grievances at the Kunst-Turn-Forum Stuttgart, an investigation had now been initiated, the public prosecutor and the State Criminal Police Office Baden-Württemberg announced on Thursday by press release. The responsible bodies continue to suspect coercion in several cases.
Searches of several objects
The procedure is directed against an accused who worked as a trainer at the Kunst-Turn-Forum Stuttgart. On Thursday, February 6th, the LKA searched several objects and secured documents. These are now evaluated. According to information from the dpa news agency, the office of the Schwäbische Turnerbund (StB) and the Kunst-Turn-Forum in Stuttgart were searched.
In addition, according to SWR information, a search of the office of the German Turner Association (DTB) in Frankfurt am Main took place on Thursday. The DTB employees were sent home.
Both associations announced that they concern the investigation as so -called third parties. Neither the associations themselves nor the responsible for the DTB and the StB are accused of the ongoing investigation. Both associations welcomed the criminal processing in statements. The investigation by the public prosecutor’s office is supported and the cooperation will continue.
