After the dramatic cup out of the 1st FC Köln, players and officials make serious accusations. The team feels disadvantaged.

If the 1. FC Köln plays against the Rhineland neighbor from Leverkusen, then there are only 23 kilometers between the two teams, but the clubs separate worlds. Because the Rhein derby is traditionally shaped by great rivalry. It’s hot. So also in the quarter -finals of the cup on Wednesday evening.

After the final whistle against referee Frank Willenborg and the bank of Bayer Leverkusen, players and coaches of the 1. FC Köln reacted with allegations. Following the 2: 3 (1: 0) after extension, Cologne’s defender Dominique Heintz in particular complained about the alleged arrogance of the Werkelf.

“Today I have to master myself that I don’t say anything wrong. Very arrogant, I have to say that many players from Leverkusener Bank,” said Heintz on the Pay TV station Sky. “What they called in, as they presented themselves, just at the end, how they provoked us – but okay.”

Nordi Mukiele and Jeremy Frimpong had provoked and cheered in front of the guest block with the fans of 1. FC Köln after the final whistle. Heintz didn’t like that. The central defender tore away the two Bayer stars, a word of word broke out that resulted in a pack formation.

Leverkusen’s coach Xabi Alonso could not understand the protest. “Really? I can’t explain that,” Alonso replied when he was asked about Heintz ‘statements. “It was a very intensive game. But I didn’t see any arrogance with my players.”

The defending champion had only saved himself against the second division leader by a goal by Patrik Schick in the sixth minute of stoppage time. In the substitute Victor Boniface (98th), the substitute for the favorite shot.

The Cologne team could not understand the aftermath period of eight minutes from referee Willenborg. “I don’t know where the eight minutes came from. This is not clear to me at all,” said FC coach Gerhard Struber. “The referee will be creative enough to find one or the other argument.”

“We wanted to show the whole FC heart on the pitch, which worked 100 percent. Nevertheless, it hurts,” said sports manager Christian Keller. However, he was protected by the referee, however, why it had so long replied, but did not open up to the person responsible for Cologne. “The referee did it properly – but I don’t understand the stoppage time, why eight minutes? Six minutes would have been more than sufficient – then we would now be in the semi -finals,” said Keller.

The frustration sat deeply with the outsider from the football sub-house. “What should I say? It happened the worst scenario. You play a great game, lead – and get the goal a minute before the end. No idea why there was eight minutes of stoppage time,” said attacker Linton Maina: “The whole Team are missing a bit of the words today.

But not only the trouble about supposed provocations of the Leverkusen and the one too long after -Picking time clouded the cup evening for the Domstadt. Her misfortune was also unlucky when the substitute new signing Imad Rondic made his debut for the club in the 111th minute for the supposed 3: 3 – but was very offside.
