Chloé Chevalier and Tilda Johansson surprisingly ended their careers in the current biathlon season. The ex-ski hunters have now talked about their respective decisions again.
“It was a difficult decision, a consideration between the fears of the ‘after the biathlon’ and the feeling that I was ready with the competitions,” Chloé Chevalier looked back over the international biathlon association IBU.
The 29-year-old had declared her career over at the beginning of the year. Chevalier was part of the French team for years and celebrated a total of three World Cup victories with the season in her career.
“Biathlon was my life for more than 10 years, I love this sport, but … my motivation to take part in competitions was not strong enough to continue,” revealed Chevalier.
She does not regret her career end, revealed the French woman. “I am happy, I feel comfortable with my decision, I am glad that I was able to decide to resign. It was my decision, not because of an injury, illness or anything,” said Chevalier.
Johansson works at biathlon school
Tilda Johansson is also no longer active in the biathlon. The Swede won the IBU Cup in the 2022/23 season. The 25-year-old decided to say goodbye to active competitive sports after a break in the past December.
“I think every day whether it was the right decision whether I stopped too early and what I would have done differently … On some days I regret my decision, but on some days I just enjoy being tilda … to play football, not be afraid of a cold and be more flexible, “Johansson gave an honest insight.
The Swede works at a biathlon school in her home country, “train and help future stars … I love my job and enjoy seeing how young active people develop,” she said about her exciting project.
Both Chevalier and Johansson continue to pursue the events in the biathlon.
