Almost the whole of Drenthe could enjoy a sunny but cold start to the day. Only the southeast corner of our province had bad luck, where the day started gray and foggy, with Code Geel as a result.
According to RTV Drenthe weatherman Hans Nienhuis we have had the coldest night of this winter. “Tonight it was between -4 and -5 and in some places even a little colder. So we have touched the moderate prince in our province,” says the weatherman. And today follows a day with lots of sun and about four above zero.
Next night it will be a bit colder than last night. Can the irons already out of the fat? Weatherman Nienhuis has bad news for the skating enthusiasts: “This night it will remain clear and the temperature will soon be firmly reduced. It will be -5 or -6 in our province, maybe it will go a little further below zero here and there. But the Skaters don’t have much to it, because during the day it becomes plus five, not very beneficial for an ice floor. “
And the following days it gets milder. “We get a completely different weather and we have lost the prince in the nights,” explains Hans Nienhuis. That takes two days, but after that there may be winters coming again.
“Before the end of the week it becomes more exciting on the weather maps. We see high pressure structure above Scandinavia again. The temperatures will then immediately respond to the northeastern wind that arises: about 3 degrees during the day, 3 or 4 degrees below zero. These are normally good circumstances in the supply area, so we get light again.
Last night’s cold in combination with the sun this morning yielded nice pictures:
