The police of the Middelkerke zone, the fire brigade, an ambulance and the mosquito were quickly on site to administer first aid.
There were three passengers in the passenger car: a 28-year-old woman and her 7-year-old daughter, both from Houthalen-Helchteren, and a 31-year-old woman from Middelkerke. The mother, who drove the car, was seriously injured and was taken to the hospital with the mug helicopter. Her daughter and the female passenger suffered minor injuries and were taken to the hospital for further care.
The public prosecutor appointed a traffic expert to investigate the precise circumstances of the accident. The Diksmuidestraat is closed for all traffic, a diversion was set.
