Her announced US shows understand SOAD as Vibe check-from there you should “see where it leads”.
From April to September, System of A Down are back on tour, at least in North and South America. Now bassist Shavo Odadjian has disclosed that these gigs should be there to “test out” again. It is not clear whether this could follow a more extensive tour or a new record – not even for the band itself.
Please no expectations
“We really play more concerts this year than in the past seven years,” said Odadjian in an interview with “Trunk Nation with Eddie Trunk”. And further “no pressure.” What he wanted to say with it: The band is looking forward to the upcoming shows, but has the plan that it doesn’t make too much head what happens afterwards.
In the conversation, he gave other insights on the Sofest stand: “We haven’t played much together for a while. We have only played one or two shows a year since 2017. So our relationship to each other was not as good as it is again. We just weren’t at the same level. So we talked. Everything is great now, I knock on wood for it. Everyone is happy. That’s why we decided to test ourselves and play a few concerts. ”
“Just no strategy”
Accordingly, fans of the group could not hope for tour dates for Europe and Co. or even single dropouts so quickly. In the interview, Shavo Odadjian explained in concrete terms: “Let’s see where these concerts bring us.”
Furthermore, the SoAD member explained: “There is no strategy for it, there is no plan to travel the rest of the world yet. I don’t say it won’t happen; I don’t say it will happen. We said to ourselves: ‘Let us play according to the feeling, make these shows and see how we feel like it. If we don’t want to do anymore, we don’t do it anymore. If we want to do more, we’ll do more. ‘ There is no great responsibility for anyone, because I have the feeling that otherwise too much think about what could happen … “
When was the last record from again?
So the future of the band remains uncertain. Soad last published something in 2005 – the two albums mezmerize and hypnotic.
