Less than a week after losing number one status, Welsh darts star Gerwyn Price has been sidelined with injury.
“The Iceman” did not start in the Premier League on Thursday evening in Brighton because of an unspecified hand injury, as the world association PDC announced. Price will not compete at the tournament in Hildesheim this weekend either.
“My apologies to everyone, this wasn’t the easiest decision,” Price wrote. He needs a few days rest now.
Price clarified that he sustained his injury in an accident and not while boxing for a good cause. In the world rankings, 37-year-old Price was overtaken by Scottish world champion Peter Wright last weekend.
