– It is always scary to decide something as special and rewarding as these three projects have been. I could say I’m sad, but I’ve been feeling for a while that it’s time to move on to the next step of my life. Because of this, I have had time to deal with the emotions and sadness of the decision – and now I am already feeling enthusiastic about the future, Kurtbay said in the release.
Kurtbay reached Tokyo’s land Janne Järvinen with. However, the lakes were not selected for the Olympics, as he was sentenced to the so-called Katiska Vocal.
Akseli Keskinen was cast in place of Järvinen. Even a medal was expected from Kurtbay and Keskinen in Paris, but the ranking was seventh.
“Although we did not reach our highest goal, we reached a lot more than we could have imagined – not only in sailing, but also as human beings,” Kurtbay said.
