Lacoste wants to grow more in the United States to reach its sales goals.

The French sports clothing brand Lacoste is planning an “aggressive” advance on the US market, since its CEO, Thierry Guibert, is aiming for an increase in annual sales to four billion euros. In an interview with Financial Times, Guibert said that he had set himself the goal of double the sales of Lacoste’s turnover of 400 million euros. To achieve this, the company is planning to open new business, including one at the Fifth Avenue in New York, and the establishment of concession areas for several large retailers: inside.

Last year, when Lacoste was in a test phase for retail markets, the company recorded an increase in sales from eight percent to around three billion euros. Guibert assumes that growth of five to ten percent is “depending on the market situation”, which could make the four-billion euro brand reach in the coming years.

In addition to the recovery of control over licenses for shoes, leather goods and underwear, Guibert also sees opportunities in the hospitality industry, since consumers are apparently prefering experiences towards physical goods.
