Chiefs can make history – Swift steals the show

The NFL semifinal game between the Buffalo Bills and the Kansas City Chiefs captivated many spectators. Superstar Taylor Swift also caused a stir in the stadium.
The football season is coming to an end in the USA. On February 9th it will be crowned with the final game of the NFL, the Super Bowl. Thousands of people watched the Buffalo Bills’ playoff showdown against their feared opponents Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday evening (local time) in front of their televisions.
After the game, the Chiefs celebrated their third consecutive trip to the Super Bowl – they could now become the first team in NFL history to win three Super Bowls in a row. Head coach Andy Reid’s team defeated the Buffalo Bills 32:29 (21:10) and will play against the Philadelphia Eagles for the most important trophy in American football. The final will take place on February 9th in New Orleans.
But aside from the semifinal game, fans were particularly excited about the presence of a pop star at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. “Taylor Swift has arrived,” headlined several US media outlets before the event began.
Social media was suddenly flooded with pictures and videos of the 35-year-old: blowing kisses to her fans, celebrating a touchdown and cheering on the game. At the end she stood in the confetti shower with her boyfriend, Chiefs player Travis Kelce. In close-up: She holds him tightly, they kiss, both are beaming from ear to ear, then they leave the field together.
The fans are always there, sharing the pictures, happy about their friend’s victory, comparing kissing pictures from then and now, discussing her outfit, which is “totally on point.” Swift is dressed head to toe in Louis Vuitton, including a black hat with the brand symbol. She also wears red tights and leather boots.
The multiple Grammy winner has been supporting not only the Kansas City Chiefs, but also her partner Travis Kelce for over a year. Swift’s presence at Sunday’s game was expected, as she attended all but one of Kansas City’s regular-season games. At last year’s Super Bowl, Kelce had already received a kiss from his famous girlfriend after the win against the Baltimore Ravens. The photo went around the world.
Nevertheless, she seems to continue to make headlines with her appearance in the stadium. The Taylor Swift effect is having a positive impact on the league, experts said as early as 2024. “Swift has a huge, loyal fan base. And her relationship with Kelce adds an intriguing and romantic element to the Super Bowl. That’s what makes it even more so for companies more attractive to advertise with,” Paul Hardart, a marketing professor at New York University, told CNN last year. Swift’s presence is expected to have a significant impact not only on viewership, but also on its demographic makeup (read more about it here).
