A cyclist is said to have punched a 60-year-old employee of the Monaco embassy in the face after an argument.
The stranger hit the 60-year-old’s embassy vehicle at a traffic light in Schöneberg on Wednesday evening after there had already been a dispute between the two men, the police said.
After a short exchange of words, the cyclist hit the employee in the face with his fist, after which the 60-year-old fell to the ground and suffered a laceration on his head. The cyclist drove away undetected but was spotted by a witness who confirmed the incident.
The employee of the Embassy of the Principality of Monaco came to a hospital for further treatment. The man has no diplomatic status, said a police spokesman. An immediately initiated search was unsuccessful. The investigations are ongoing.
