After an outstanding 5-0 against Fürth shortly before Christmas, the Hanseatic League started the new year excellently with an important 1-0 against Cologne.

Hertha is having a sobering season and is stuck in twelfth place in the table after seven wins, four draws and seven defeats. After a measly point from three games before the winter break, the first match in 2025 was at least won. There was an important 2-1 win in Paderborn that kept their promotion hopes alive. The current second division season is so crazy that even the twelfth place in the table still has a chance. Before the match day, Hertha was only six points behind league leaders Hamburg. With a win today we could get within three points of HSV.
