Olympique Marseille’s Elye Wahi is considered Eintracht Frankfurt’s favorite option to replace Omar Marmoush (25), who was unveiled at Manchester City on Thursday. There has now apparently been a breakthrough in the courtship of the 22-year-old Frenchman after an initial offer was rejected.

Latest reports from the station “RMC Sportand the newspaperL’EquipeAccording to Frankfurt and OM have reached an agreement in poker around Wahi. Accordingly, the fixed transfer fee amounts to 26 million euros, to which 3 million euros in bonuses could be added. The only difference between the two media when it comes to resale participation is 12 and 15 percent respectively. Either way, Wahi would become Eintracht’s new record signing.
The attacker is scheduled to travel to Frankfurt on Friday to complete his medical check and sign a four-and-a-half-year contract. The Hessians had previously reportedly offered 20 million euros as a transfer fee. Sports director Markus Krösche didn’t want to go any higher, it was said at the time. The manager said on Thursday evening on the sidelines of the 2-0 win in the Europa League against Ferencváros Budapest: “Yes, we are ultimately looking for a replacement, for an offensive player. And now let’s see what happens.” Krösche didn’t want to go into detail. “Surely there are one or two,” he said simply about possible candidates.
OM didn’t want to accept a transfer loss with Wahi and wanted to recoup the 25 million euros invested in him in the summer. The “Picture“wrote on Wednesday that they were asking for 28 million euros, while Eintracht didn’t want to spend more than they did for Hugo Ekitiké (22). It cost 20 million euros including the loan fee when he moved permanently from PSG to the Main in the summer of 2024.
Market value loser Wahi is supposed to replace Marmoush at Eintracht Frankfurt
In addition to Wahi, the SGE apparently also examined other options. Recently, Nuremberg’s PAOK loanee Stefanos Tzimas (19), who would be comparable in price, and Bröndby’s Mathias Kvistgaarden (22) were also discussed in the rumor mill. At OM, however, Ajax’s Brian Brobbey (22) and Feyenoord’s Bayern terror Santiago Gimenez (23) were considered possible successors.
Wahi’s market value has decreased in the past year and a half from 40 million to currently 25 million euros. In Marseille this season he only made seven starting eleven appearances on the first eight match days. In 14 games he contributed three goals and one assist.
