Norwegian news agency NTB said that the World Ski Championships may see a strike by activists.

According to NTB, climate activists are planning a spectacular demonstration for the men’s 50 km race. The World Championships will be held in Trondheim, Norway, from February 26 to March 9. The men’s 50 km freestyle combined start race is scheduled for Saturday, March 8.

Expectations and eyes are focused on Finns on the trip in question Iivo Niskasen.

The demonstration is planned by the Folk mot fossilmakta group, which opposes the use of fossil fuels. They threaten to “block the track” in the race.

Activists demand that the World Cup organizers remove the logos and advertisements of all companies marketing fossil fuels from the competition area. In addition, they demand to present their own short video in the competition area.

The World Cup organizers have until February 5 to respond to the request.

Security manager Gaute Karlsson told NTB that the race organization is ready to organize a Folk mot on fossilmakta to express their own opinion.
