Catherine Keyl chuckles in a gossip magazine that Jan Slagter was all alone behind the scenes after the Renze Klamer talk show. “Everyone was standing around me,” she explains.
Will things ever work out between Catherine Keyl and Jan Slagter? Probably not. The two were together in Renze Klamer’s talk show a few weeks ago and started arguing there. The host tried to encourage Jan to apologize for his jerky behavior, but Catherine never heard from him again.
Catherine explodes
Catherine is done with Jan and his lies. “I kept my mouth shut for twenty years, but that was enough. I once started at Omroep MAX with the program Max & Catherine and thus put the broadcaster on the map, we immediately had a million viewers every day,” she explains in the latest Weekend.
She had to stop because of bouts of diarrhea, after which Jan choked her to death. He promised her another program, but ignored her proposals. “I know that those jerks in Hilversum treat people like that. But if (…) he says: ‘She never submitted another program proposal.’ Well, then of course I’ll catch fire!”
On his own
How did that go after Renze? Did he then walk towards her? “No. But it was very funny: everyone stood around me afterwards. And Jan stood alone. Hihi! I think because they didn’t agree with Jan.”
Catherine was also happy with the host’s support. “I thought it was very good that he said that Jan should apologize. I don’t want to be spiteful, but he shouldn’t tell lies!”
‘I’m going mad!’
That Jan keeps lying and blaming others, Catherine fumes. “And then Jan also said to Renze: ‘Well, it’s only Wilfred Genee!’ You tell Wilfred yourself, but then you start blaming him? It makes me furious, I can’t stand it.”
“He can’t handle strong women, and certainly can’t handle criticism. But that’s what happens with bosses who have been in charge somewhere for twenty years and can make and break lives, they don’t get that much criticism.”
