Lady Gaga has been teasing her new era for almost a year. Now you can find a mysterious countdown on her website that apparently has to do with Gaga’s as-yet-untitled seventh studio album – which is due out soon.
When is your new record coming out?
The Little Monsters, as the pop icon’s fan base is called, call Gaga’s mysterious project LG7. Not much information was provided about the upcoming album. Neither title nor tracklist… the 38-year-old leaves her listeners fidgeting. However, in an interview with Vogue, Gaga said that the album will be released in February 2025. When exactly is she keeping to herself?
But if you now visit the “Applause” interpreter’s website, you will see a ticking timer on the screen. According to the advertisement, this should end on Monday, January 27th. But there is no title or description of what the counting down clock is aimed at. However, if you hover over the screen with the mouse clicked, you will discover an inscription underneath the futuristic animation of the page. This seems to change daily. On Tuesday, January 21st, for example, you could see the “LG1” lettering. A day later “LG2” is written there. If you put two and two together, on Monday it would read “LG7,” the unofficial title of Gaga’s seventh studio album. So maybe the album will be released before February?
Lady Gaga is so multifaceted
In September 2024, the New York native released her last project “Harlequin,” which was inspired by the musical thriller “Joker: Folie à Deux,” in which the singer took on the role of Harley Quinn. However, the album was not given the title LG7, but was instead named LG6.5, as also reported by The Guardian. The 40-minute record consists of 13 songs and, with its jazz tones, proves how diverse the multi-talented Gaga really is. By the way, the house-inspired record “Chromatica”, which came onto the market in 2020, can be counted as LG6. In between, the “A Star is Born” actress could be heard on a number of different projects, including the 2024 duet with Bruno Mars, “Die With A Smile,” or the jointly recorded single “Sweet Sounds of Heaven” with Rolling Stones.
