Birkenstock has a new chief financial officer.

The footwear retailer has appointed Ivica Krolo as the group’s chief financial officer (CFO), Birkenstock Group said on Tuesday. In his new role, which Krolo will take up on February 1st, he will follow in Erik Massmann’s footsteps.

Birkenstock has agreed with Massmann that he will step down from office on January 31, but will actively support the handover process to ensure a seamless transition, according to the statement. Both Massmann and Krolo will present the financial results for the first quarter of 2025 during the conference call scheduled for February 20th.

The designated CFO is moving to Birkenstock from the investment firm EMH Partners, where he has worked as CFO since 2015. He also previously worked as an auditor and manager at the accounting firm PricewaterhouseCoopers. There specialized in auditing and advising listed and medium-sized companies. Birkenstock itself went public in October 2023.

“With its pragmatic and practical, people-focused approach, Ivica is a great fit for our global Birkenstock family,” said Oliver Reichert, Chief Executive Officer of the Birkenstock Group. “I look forward to working with him and to continuing to shape Global Finance as the backbone for sustainable and profitable growth and writing the next chapter of our success story.”
