After seven games without a win: TSG Hoffenheim won 3-1 (2-0) at Holstein Kiel in the Bundesliga. Andrej Kramarić also scored – of all people.

Adam Hložek scored twice (26th minute, 56th) in Hoffenheim’s first win in the Bundesliga since the end of November. Andrej Kramarić scored the third goal for TSG (45th+1). Andu Kelati, who used to play for Hoffenheim’s reserves, scored late for Kiel (84′). Too late to turn things around with his goal.

At this point the referee was no longer called Felix Brych – he injured his calf and was unable to finish the game. Sven Jablonski took over for him; he was fourth official until then (66th).

Kramarić scores – that’s of course a nice story

That was of course a strange story. But the story of the game was one that told of criticism and anger, of sadness and goals. It was about Kramarić. A few days ago, Kramarić, 33, gave a highly regarded interview in which he spoke about Hoffenheim’s crisis and otherwise didn’t seem particularly confident when it came to the future of his employer.

They weren’t thrilled at TSG. They still decided not to punish their best footballer. The coach Christian llzer even nominated Kramarić for the starting eleven, and he won’t have regretted it. Not only because Kramarić scored a goal worth seeing, in which he used a feint to let an opponent run into space before hitting the right post from eleven meters and then into the goal.

Hoffenheim is now three points ahead of 16th place

At TSG Hoffenheim they should be relieved. This applies to IIlzer, who only took over as coach in the fall but had only won one of his ten competitive games. It applies to Kramarić, who has rarely been convincing this season and was also criticized after his interview. And for the fans who, when looking at the table, will be relieved to see that their club in 15th place is now at least three points ahead of relegation place 16.

Disillusionment at Holstein Kiel

However, it was a disappointing afternoon for the Kiel team, who had recently annoyed Borussia Dortmund. Holstein had cleverly countered BVB – that couldn’t be done with TSG Hoffenheim. So Kiel had a hard time – Phil Harres, 22, who recently scored five goals in three games in a row, wasn’t a factor this time either.
