Erika Vikman competes in UMK with the song Ich komme. The song and its music video are out now.

UMK song by Erika Vikman Ich komme is now published. The competition song is Chisun ja Jori Roosberg’s from a pen.

Vikman says in the release that he made a song request to Chisu and Roosberg while working on his album. The demo of the product made an immediate impression.

– When they presented the song to me, I thought, damn it, I’ll see you in February. The song screams UMK and Eurovision, Vikman says in the announcement.

Vikman says that Ich komme represents taking power for oneself.

– Everything related to your sexuality is in your own hands. Pleasure should not be taboo.

– Even though the men are wonderful, Finland also has that feminine strength to offer. Now is the time!

Vikman previously told Iltalehte that the name of the song Ich komme dates back to last year’s trip to Germany, when he shared a video on his Instagram in which he spoke German.

– I’ve been reading German for nine years, so at this point you should sing the devil in German, he said to Iltalehte.

Vikman has a clear goal for UMK. After participating in the competition last time Cicciolina-song in 2020, he came in second, and eventually the visas were canceled completely due to the corona pandemic. The following year, he performed UMK’s opening number with Antti Tuisku, and last year he performed in the halftime show with Käärijä.

– Now I’m applying to get to Eurovision. My place in the world of Finnish entertainment exists. Everything is going well, there’s a gig, wonderful fans. I want to try my wings in Europe, I want to Eurovision!

In addition to Vikman, Neea River, Costee, DelayOne Morning Left, Goldielocks and Nelli Matula. UMK’s winner will be chosen on February 8.

The winner of the competition will represent Finland at the Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland in May.
