Style icon Iris Apfel has designed a collection together with H&M. The resulting looks are “glamorous and rousing,” said the Swedish fashion chain on Wednesday. The collaboration celebrates Apple’s 100th birthday.
The collection consists of statement pieces that are complemented with additional accessories and jewelery and pays homage to Apfel’s sense of style and uncompromising independence.
A luminary in her field in the fashion industry, Apfel is known for her confident and original clothing choices and her love of maximalism. “I think H&M is fabulous and the brand is an absolute pioneer in their field – I love that! I love showing big style at affordable prices and H&M has mastered that!” says Apfel.
The resulting styles are diverse – a light yellow pantsuit with purple fringes, a two-piece suit that takes up all the colors of the rainbow, and a floor-length, wide dress in a no less colorful variety of colors were designed.
Whether yellow patterned trousers with a frog-green fur jacket or a black suit with shorts, which was given the finishing touch with a lilac-colored ruffled tulle jacket – the collection reflects Apfel’s own style in all shapes and colors.
“H&M was excited to work with Iris because of her well-known eclectic tastes and influence on the fashion scene. It embodies personal style – a style that is both beautifully extravagant and eclectic and completely timeless. It shows what fashion is about: it is a means of expressing yourself, showing who you are or want to be, and having fun. She’s a true inspiration!” says Ann-Sofie Johansson, Creative Advisor at H&M Damen.
The collection will be available from March 31st in the H&M online shop and in selected stores.
