The artificial intelligence tools have been accessed with login information found on the internet.

Microsoft is taking legal action to stop the company’s alleged use of artificial intelligence services for dubious purposes. According to the company, the operation violates both US law and the terms of service.

To write about it on Microsoft’s website a representative of the company’s digital crime unit Steven Masada. According to Masada’s text, the company has detected an entity operating outside the United States that has accessed login information from online sites.

By exploiting the login information, the attackers have allegedly changed the features of certain Microsoft artificial intelligence services.

The attackers have used artificial intelligence services themselves, but in addition, they are also alleged to have forwarded login information to other interested parties for a fee. Buyers have also been able to get detailed instructions on how to use the tools to create harmful content.

With the lawsuit, Microsoft also gets permission to take over the website, which, according to Masada’s update, is the key to the criminal network in question. It can be used to find out information about, for example, who the criminals are and how they make money by abusing artificial intelligence tools.

“We are sending a clear message: we will not tolerate online entities that turn our AI technology into a weapon,” Masada writes.
