“My revenge will be equal to their guilt,” he says at one point Edmond Dantès. And the fault of Villefort, Danglars and Fernand is enormous: having plotted against him by accusing him of being a Bonapartist conspirator to each gain an advantage for themselves. Intrigue, conspiracy, hate and love, forgiveness and revenge, hope and desperation: these are the great themes which are intertwined in the famous nineteenth-century novel written by Alexandre Dumas.
