Footballer’s wife was apparently harassed

On Thursday RCD Mallorca lost to Real Madrid in the Supercopa. The sporting aspect is now apparently taking a back seat.
In the Spanish Super Cup, the so-called Supercopa de España, Real Madrid beat RCD Mallorca 3-0 on Thursday. A few days later, however, it is no longer about the teams’ sporting performance, but rather about unpleasant events that are said to have happened afterwards.
As the Spanish newspaper “Mundo Deportivo” reports, the wife of Mallorca midfielder Dani Rodríguez is said to have been harassed at the stadium in Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Accordingly, Cristina Palavra, like other women, felt uncomfortable by some Real fans.
Palavra told the Balearic television station “IB3”: “We were traveling without security personnel and were harassed. They took photos of us at close range. (…) We had no one to protect us.” According to Palavra, goalkeeper Dominik Greif’s wife, Natália Kalužová, also suffered from the events.
The Spanish media company “El Partidazo de COPE” also posted a video on Instagram showing Real fans and other fans holding up their cell phones for videos. A user named Cristina Martinez posted it on her Instagram story and wrote: “Cristina Palavra, our full support against these acts.” She added: “Shameful and unbearable!!! No words.”
Dani Rodríguez and Cristina Palavra posted this video in their stories. A user also shared the “IB3” interview with Palavra in her story and wrote: “I agree with her words.” The player’s wife also reposted this story.
The Spanish radio station “El Larguero” also shared a post on Instagram. It says: “The wives of Dani Rodríguez and Greif were harassed by local fans at the exit of the King Abdullah Stadium.”
