With the municipal elections approaching, now is the time to influence politics in your municipality. And, if necessary, to judge the local politicians for what they have done in recent years.
The election survey by NH Nieuws and Kieskompas shows that the residents of Huizen give their municipality the highest score, a 6.7. Bergen (4.3), Den Helder (4.1) and Hollands Kroon (4.0) get the lowest figures.
In Den Helder there was a fuss about the town hall. In the municipality of Hollands Kroon, the data centers in the Wieringermeer are a hot topic. In Bergen governance culture is a much-discussed issue.
Enough listened
In the same survey, residents of Noord-Holland were asked whether the municipality listens enough to the inhabitants. 39 percent of the residents agree with the statement. In Den Helder they are much less pleased with the listening ear of their municipality: 37 percent think that the naval city pays too little attention to its inhabitants.
