Under the motto TOGETHER, trade visitors and the media can discover one of the world’s largest green fashion exhibitions at the 55th INNATEX. From January 18th to 20th, 2025, the international trade fair in Hofheim-Wallau near Frankfurt will present sustainable fashion collections, shoes and accessories for all generations and occasions.
New labels that have been exhibiting for years form the backbone of Green Fashion
The People Wear Organic label, which recently won the German Sustainability Prize, is particularly popular with kids and parents with its beautiful designs. The fair sneaker label Get the Balance from Portugal is once again honoring INNATEX. The French brand Bask in the Sun, also returning, delivers casual menswear for lovers of the ocean. For lovers of a cultivated, active lifestyle, VAUDE is the holistically committed brand. Recolution brings urban cool, and Lana Organic comes with classic fashion made from natural textiles. The standard setters include the Global Organic Textile Standard and the International Association of the Natural Textile Industry, patron of INNATEX.
Labels invest heavily in their trade fair appearance
For the first time, the organizing company MUVEO GmbH is positioning the DESIGN DISCOVERIES in the foyer of the Rhein-Main exhibition center instead of on the first floor as before. The new location of the DESIGN DISCOVERIES, which is exhibiting for the first time, directly after the main entrance ensures that the labels from the funding program of the same name can be seen directly. The four brands selected by a jury include Maison Labiche from France, which embroiders women’s wear, HAKA and kidswear. Accessories made from Malagasy Raffa fiber come from Ikiala. Kiwistories delivers fashion with prints and patterns, and Delin uses linen for shirts, shirts, dresses, etc.
Where there was previously space for DESIGN DISCOVERIES, there is now expanded exhibitor space. “We have been observing for several years that the stands are getting bigger and bigger,” reports Jens Frey, Managing Director of MUVEO GmbH. “We see the increasing willingness to make this type of investment as a positive signal from the industry, especially in the midst of ongoing economic challenges. The labels come up with a lot of ideas when designing their spacious areas – it’s worth a visit!”
Insider knowledge also for conventional trading
Different formats take place in the talk area on the first floor: A program highlight is the trade association specialist panel on Monday, which is primarily aimed at buyers. Under the title “Best Practice from Retail: Meeting Challenges with Active Customer Loyalty and Other Measures” Dr. Eva Stüber from the Cologne Institute for Retail Research, Jost Wiebelhaus from the Frankfurter Laufshop, Olivia Dahlem from Quartier Frau, Marion Käfer from lumiies and Silvio Zeizinger from the Hesse Retail Association talk about trends and solutions for sales. Cheryll Mühlen, editor-in-chief of the specialist magazines Textilmitissements, J’N’C and Green Knowledge, will moderate the event.
“Our immediate target group consists of labels and representatives of green fashion,” says Alexander Hitzel, project manager at INNATEX. “This is also and precisely why we want to focus more on retail, which is a crucial factor for the success of the fashion industry. Conventional retail in particular should feel addressed because there is still a lot of potential for sustainable change here.”
On Saturday and Sunday there will be a total of three talks with Nina Lorenzen from Fashion Changers, Mirjam Smend from Greenstyle Munich and a lecture about the trip to Egypt from the International Association of the Natural Textile Industry.
“Community building will be even more important in the future”
The motto of the 55th INNATEX, TOGETHER, is a call for solidarity in the green fashion industry, finding synergies and maintaining confidence. “Especially smaller ones
Companies can benefit specifically from collaborations,” says Hitzel. “The possibilities range from exchanging resources and knowledge to increasing reach and cost savings. I also expect community building to become even more important in the coming years.”
INNATEX | International trade fair for sustainable textiles:
INNATEX is the world’s only international trade fair for sustainable textiles, which, in addition to the classic clothing sector, also offers a sales and communication platform for numerous other textile product groups such as accessories, shoes, home textiles, fabrics and toys. In total, over 200 labels exhibit their collections for all occasions, styles and generations of DOB, HAKA and kidswear. The trade visitor fair has been taking place twice a year since 1997, in winter and summer in Hofheim-Wallau near Frankfurt am Main. The showroom in Bern (Switzerland) has supplemented the portfolio of the trade fair organizer MUVEO GmbH since 2014.
MUVEO GmbH launched the DESIGN DISCOVERIES project for INNATEX many years ago in order to support selected newcomer labels and newcomers to the trade fair with subsidized stands and special communication measures. There are now a large number of brands that have started their (trade fair) career as one of the DESIGN DISCOVERIES at INNATEX.
